CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Training
2.5 Hour Initial Course - HLTCPR201A

Course Description:
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform the essential life saving technique of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Content is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines 2011.
Learning Objectives:
- DRSABCD action plan
- Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty
- Perform CPR in line with ARC guidelines
- Infection control
- Demonstrate the use of AED
Course Prerequisites:
No pre- requisites for this course. Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.
Course Format:
The course is delivered in a theoretical and practical format.
Course Duration:
2.5 hours.
Qualification Issued:
On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited course - HLTCPR201A Perform CPR.
Certificate Validity:
The CPR certificate is valid for 12 months. Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
