nationally recognised VETAB approved course equips individual's,
who have access to a semiautomatic defibrillator, with the skills
necessary to safely employ it as part of a resuscitation attempt.

- Safety issues relating to the AED.
- Maintenance and use of the AED.

This
training is suitable for individuals, companies and organisations,
and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make
them confident and competent to use an AED.

at least 16 years of age by the last scheduled session of the course. |

mixture of theoretical and practical elements, with at least 50% of
time spent on practical skills. |

for Completion: |
- Attendance
at all sections of the course is required.
- Active participation in group activities and discussions involved
in the training program.
- Successfully complete progressive practical assessments.
- Progressive assessment of the competencies will be conducted throughout
the course.
- Successfully complete a multiple-choice theoretical assessment at
the end of the course.

Due
to the practical components of the course, participants are advised
to wear comfortable casual attire.
It is recommended the CPR component of the course be updated yearly
