Description: |
To
provide participants with knowledge of relevant legislation covering
OHS in the workplace, and how to utilise provisions of that legislation
to remedy health and safety concerns. The course also provides participants
with knowledge and understanding of both employer and employee responsibilities
in relation to OHS in the workplace. |
| Learning
Objectives: |
Demonstrate
knowledge of legislation applicable to OHS in the workplace.
Demonstrate knowledge of employer, employee and third party responsibilities
in relation to OHS in the workplace.
Describe the principles and of workers' compensation and rehabilitation,
and the employer's responsibility under the legislation.
Describe the process involved in accident investigation.
Describe how the application of OHS legislation can be used to remedy
health and safety concerns in the workplace.
Demonstrate knowledge of the management of specific workplace risks
and hazards.
Conduct, and report on, a specified workplace inspection. |

Audience: |
The
training is primarily for those participants who are elected as
NSW workplace health and safety representatives, and as such there
are no prerequisites for the training. |

through the examination of case studies, open discussion and practical
