A nationally recognised VETAB approved course for those people wishing to have the skills and knowledge to perform emergency first aid procedures in the first few minutes after a life-threatening incident.

Course Description:
This course if those people wishing to have the skills and knowledge to perform emergency first aid procedures in the first few minutes after a life-threatening incident.
Learning Objectives:
  • Apply Life Support Skills.
  • Apply First Aid Management Skills for Burns.
  • Demonstrate the identification and management of bleeding and wounds.
  • Apply First Aid Management for bone and joint injuries.
  • Apply First Aid Management skills for bites, stings and poisoning.
  • Manage an life threatening illnesses.
  • Describe the recognition and management of an eye injury.
Target Audience:
This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organisations, and will provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform Basic life Support.
Course Prerequisites: Be at least 14 years of age by the last scheduled session of the course.
Course Format: A mixture of theoretical and practical elements, with at least 50% of time spent on practical skills.
Course Length: 6 - 8 hours.

Participant Materials:
  • Manual - First Aid Quick Guide (provided by Healthcorp).
  • A4 Certificate.
Requirements for Completion: 100% attendance & participation.
Venue: Held at Healthcorp training rooms.
For groups of 10 or more we can train on-site.
Qualification issued: Statement of Attainment - Apply Basic First Aid.
Certificate Validity: Certification is valid for one (1) year from the completion date.
Legislative Authorisations: The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the ANTA National Training Register.
